Group Name

"Heber Springs Jazz" is a 20 piece power house Big Band that was started in April of 2004 , by Jazz Trombonist, Craig A. Grubbs. Craig moved to Heber Springs in the summer of 2003 from Reno Nevada, and soon realized that there was not much going on in the North Central Arkansas area as far as Jazz goes. After months of preparation and meeting with key area musicians, Craig started "Heber Springs Jazz". The Big Band is based out of Heber Springs, but it has taken the dedication of many fine area musicians to make this Band function. The Band is composed of musicians from Heber Springs, Rose Bud, Edgemont, Leslie, Mt. Vernon, Searcy, Bald Knob, Beebe, Greenbrier, Conway, North Little Rock, & Little Rock. Most of the Band Members have day jobs, and we play in the Band because we love to play the music, and share it with others. "Heber Springs Jazz" is proud to be listed in the 2005-2006 Arkansas Arts On Tour roster.
