Poets of the Lake





Poets of the Lake is a local group that meets monthly to share their love of poetry and prose. Everyone is welcome. For more information about the Poets of the Lake, call 501 884 6662.

Sue Allen Pico is an Artist Educator listed on the roster of the Arkansas Arts Council , Artist in Education program. She is known for her fun filled, entertaining, and informative presentations. Ms Pico provides workshops statewide to students and adults in Poetry, Drama, Drawing, Cartooning, Art in Math, Art in History and many others.

Sue specializes in workshops that encourage, engage, and excite workshop participants about their personal abilities.

Sue spends a great deal of artistic energy encouraging others to realize their potential, whether it be a first grader who recognizes how fun performing in a play is, a senior adult
charmed by the world of poetry, a middle school student introduced to the history and arts of Homesteading in the Dakota Territory or
someone who finds out that anyone can draw, even them.

Sue has involved children and adults with the arts in public and private schools, churches, and other venues in four states.

She develops, participates in, and teaches a wide variety of performance, poetry, history, math, and visual arts programs in schools, libraries, museums, art centers, and other settings.

Sue has participated in drawing, watercolor, poetry, and drama workshops along with various training opportunities offered by the Arkansas Arts Council.

Sue is currently a member of the North Central Arkansas Artist League, the Poets of the Lake, the Troubadours (a readers theater performing arts group), The North Central Arkansas Foundation for the Arts and Education, and on the Arkansas Arts Council "Arts in Education" Artist Roster.

Sue graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a double major in Fine Arts and Cumulative Art Education.
